Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a quick update to let you all know what's been going on lately! Okay, so my mom and I go to garage sales a lot, it's just fun for us. This summer, I have a list of things off of my packing list that I need for the trip, or should I say needed? The first sale we went to after I got my list had one of the top items I had, a nalgene bottle. I thought, "Wow, this is great, plus, it's in the free box!" Though it wasn't exactly the one I was looking for (I had specifics in mind), I was so grateful for it and was already proclaiming how great God was. Then, one of the next ones we went to had the EXACT kind I was looking for, for a quarter. Perfect condition. To top it off, I was able to talk to the woman running it, who had been on missions trips as well with Dr. Tims and Dr. Boeke. So I had the opportunity to talk to her for a short while and give her my blog link (if you're reading this, thank you SOOO much!). Today was an amazing blessing, we stopped at one sale and found a brand-new (or close to) travel backpack, with compression pulls inside, compartments that can be zipped off, etc. We didn't know if it would work for a carry on (another thing I was looking for that would fit everything I'll need), so the man there went inside and looked up airline specifications for me, then measured the bag... PERFECT size for airline regulations. The woman working this sale was talking to me for awhile and then decided to sell it to me for $5... $5!!! (Once again, thank you SO much!!!)
God is AMAZING!
Also, all of the clothing that I was looking for (t-shirts, capris, shorts, and skirts) I have found more than enough, not anything cost me more than $2, most were around $.50. My mom and I have just been repeating, "God is so good!" "Thank You, God!" All day!
Finally, I truly have a heart for children, so I decided to take some of the space in my suitcase and fill it with children's clothing for AIM to use over there. God's people are good too, and I have already received a few donations! (Thanks Terry and Mrs. McConkey!!! Sorry, I didn't catch your first name!) The latter of the two was running a fundraiser for a group trip to the Dominican Republic, and as we talked to her, she told us that she had also been to Africa and wants to go back (for my teammates, I learned that coloring books and crayons are good and Keens for shoes are great, a little costly, but great shoes!)! Ah, I wish I could have you all sit down and watch a video of all of this, it's incredible how God is making everything just fall together!
In Him,
Bri
