I have been blessed with the most amazing, supportive church family I ever could have asked for. I did not, in any way, expect the support they have given to me and it means so much to me! I know many of you are reading this so, if I missed the opportunity to thank you, I don't want to do it again. Thank you all so much for everything. Honestly, it is going to be so difficult for me to be away from you all for so long... but I will be back!
Many members have blessed me with little gifts to take along and I am so grateful! I think God is really setting in my heart that Psalm 91 is a chapter for this chapter in my life, because, as I opened a gift I was given, stamped inside was a verse from the Psalm. Psalm 91:11 ~ For He shall send His angels to guard thee in all ways."
On the side of being ready to go, my suitcases are... packed? Or not so much quite yet. I have one zipped up, I will not open it (let's hope). I have another that I keep throwing things at (quite literally, I find something in my carry-on that doesn't need to be so it will go in my suitcase). And I need to wake up in 4 hours to get ready to leave. I will be running on little sleep my first day in Georgia, but it will be worth it for the final times I was able to spend with my church family. Honestly, you are all my family!
That being said, I need to finish organizing my suitcase and carry-on so that I might be able to zip them up until I arrive at my first destination. I still have more to do tonight (including cleaning my room, I don't want to come back to a mess! :) ), and we'll see when I actually shut my computer down (for anyone who doesn't know, it is on constantly, I will probably shut it off right before I leave for Georgia, minutes before in fact!).
So, I am off, to spend my last hours in MN, for the time. I know I will be back, but it will be a few months, though I have done this before, spent months away from my house, I have never spent it so the option of coming home is so distant. A 3 hour drive is a lot different than 22 hours of travel (not including layovers!).
Before I end this, I just want to let you all know what my plans are as I don't know the next time I will be online. Tomorrow morning, I have a 7am flight to Atlanta, GA. Between 11am and 2pm, my teammates and I will be arriving at the airport. We will then be brought to Gainesville, GA (an hour from Atlanta) for our week of training camp in the states before we all board the planes to Africa. That is Monday, Sept 15th. We will have more than a full day of traveling and will arrive late in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa to begin our adventure of a lifetime!
Please keep my team in your prayers as we are setting out to follow God's call on our lives! I am so eager to see what God is doing in Africa!
In Him,
Bri
